Dr. Tamar Koblianidze graduated from Tbilisi State University and received the Ph.D. in Economic Sciences in 2005. With 30 years of experience in the academic field, she contributed to institutions such as GTU, TSU, Iliauni, CIU, SDASU, and GRUNI. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor at GTU and holds the position of Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development. Over the years, she has held significant roles, including Dean of the Business Faculty at Caucasus International University and Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. Since 2019, she has been leading the undergraduate program in tourism at the David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia. From 2011 to 2017, she actively participated in EU Tempus projects such as WeNeT (158739-TEMPUS-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES) and Cruise-T (543681-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES). Since 2015, she has been a valued member of the scientific committee of the Ovidius University Annals Economic Sciences Series. In 2018-19, within the EU project "Mayors for Economic Growth", she played key role in developing a local economic plan for the municipality of Gori (in tourism).
Since 2019, she has been a member of the Scientific Council of the European Wine Cultural Route ITER VITIS. Starting from 2020, she was part of the E-COST scientific network of the European Cooperation of Science and Technology. She is the founder of two non-governmental organizations - ITER VITIS Georgia -she is the president of the association and CNPRC - the executive director of the regional center for consulting and new professions. Joined at GTU team as a visiting professor in 2016, she assumed the role of an Associate Professor in 2021. In 2019-23, she initiated and organized student and scientific international conferences, along with various external events at GTU. In 2022 and 2023, she was involved in the organizing committees of international scientific conferences. Currently, as the main staff of the university, she participates in Erasmus+ exchange programs.
In 2023, she participated in various forums and conferences, including
2023-2024, under her direct supervision, up to 10 scientific research projects were prepared at the Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development, one of which was "Creating of a master's educational program at GTU in cooperation with the Mountain University (Milan University Research Canter): "Sustainable Development of Mountainous Areas" The project was fully funded by the World Bank. She published over 50 scientific papers in national and international journals. Many publications are devoted to tourism, including mountain tourism and sustainability.
