Brief Bio

Dr. Nusrat Yaqoob is a distinguished economist and public policy strategist who completed her PhD in January 2026. Her doctoral research pioneered the use of WEAP modeling to analyze how transboundary Indus Basin conflicts impact intra-provincial water equity. Currently a Researcher at the Institute of Historical and Social Research (IHSR), Sohail University, she focuses on the socio-legal evolution of water rights and the integration of ESG principles into national policy.

A recipient of the Young Scientist Award (2022) from the Asia Pacific Network, Dr. Yaqoob has built an extensive international profile. She serves on the UNFCCC International Expert Roster, holds the position of Newsletter Chair for UNESCO-GWYN, and is a task force member for the International Water Resources Association (IWRA). Her work consistently bridges the gap between high-level academic research and practical, climate-resilient governance solutions for the Global South.
