Dr. Wishfully Mylliemngap is a botanist and specialized in Forest ecology and biodiversity. Currently, she is working as a scientist at G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (NIHE) and based in the Eastern Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh in North-eastern India. Her research interests include plant biodiversity, community-based natural resource management, ethnobotany and ethno-ecology, traditional knowledge systems and nature-based livelihood options. In addition to her core research, she is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and empowering local communities. She actively engages in imparting training, raising awareness, and building capacity among the rural population. Her initiatives focus on alternative livelihood options, including low-cost agricultural technologies and value-addition and marketing of locally available bioresources. She collaborates with relevant community-based organizations, providing support and guidance to students, youths, women farmers, local communities, and village leaders. Through her small efforts, she wishes to empower the local communities by sharing knowledge and fostering practical skills, to create a harmonious relationship between humans and the environment.
