Dr. Petro Baranov is a Doctor of Sciences (Geology) and a Professor. The sphere of his scientific interests includes the field of patterns of distribution of inclusions of mineral-forming environments, in particular quartz in geological complexes, as well as diagnostics, evaluation and processing of precious stones. He is awarded the highest award of the Fabergé Foundation in the field of stone carving with the title of "Honored worker of stone carving art".
He is senior forensic expert of the Dnipropetrovsk Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
