Dr. Marcela Aparecida de Moraes Silvestre is Agricultural Engineer at São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho", Ilha Solteira Campus, with a Master's and PhD in Agronomy with emphasis on Production System at São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho", Ilha Solteira Campus and Post-Doctor in Plant Physiology at University of São Paulo. She worked as a professor in the Department of Plant Production and Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences of São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho", Botucatu campus, for the Agronomic Engineering, Forestry Engineering and Biological Sciences courses. She is working on a research project, as Post-Doctor, on the use of molecular markers to better understand the performance of natural selection in a degraded area. She is a reviewer of national/international scientific journals. Has experience in quantitative genetics and population genetics of tropical tree species applied to breeding and conservation.
