Dr. Cláudia S. G. Martins is an Agronomic Engineer, from the ‘Instituto Superior de Agronomia’, University of Lisbon (Portugal), with MSc and DSc in Applied Ecology from ‘Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz’, University of São Paulo, Brazil. Researcher at the Institute for the Conservation of Neotropical Carnivores (IPC) for human-jaguar-and-puma conflicts within protected areas (PA). Research fellow in the “Programa Araguaia Vivo”, Tropical Water Research Alliance (TWRA) and “Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Goiás” (FAPEG), Brazil, for the human dimensions of fisheries and tourism in Medium Araguaia River. Associated researcher at the Centre for Ecology and Environmental Monitoring, from the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco, Petrolina, PE, Brazil (NEMA/Univasf), for socio-environmental conflicts within PA and ecological restoration projects in semi-arid regions.
