Mr. Ben R Collison is an Interdisciplinary PhD student in the School for Resource and Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. His applied research focuses on sustainable natural resource management through the conservation of forests, freshwater ecosystems and wildlife species at risk. More specifically, Ben’s PhD work investigates how riparian forest management and forestry road networks impact climate change vulnerability and functional connectivity of freshwater habitats for resident and migratory fish in Nova Scotia, Canada. Some of his other projects include protected areas planning, aquatic invasive species mitigation, and mining law and policy. His experience ranges from working in government and industry as a policy analyst, biologist, aquatic invasive species inspector, and forest technician.
