Mustafa, Dr. Ayman Balla

Dr. Ayman Balla Mustafa Yassien graduated from University of Juba with B.Sc. (Honors) in 2003. After that he got M.Sc. (2007) and Ph.D. in Nutrition and Dairy Sciences in 2014 from University of Khartoum, Sudan. His PhD study focused on nutritional values and medicinal properties of camel milk. He served as Lecturer of Nutrition Sciences, University of Juba, and then Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Butana University. In 2016, he transferred to Libya, and worked as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and College of Medical Technology, School of Clinical Nutrition of Misurata University. Currently, he works as Associate Professor at Therapeutic Nutrition Department (TND), Faculty of Health Sciences, Misurata University, Libya. He has conducted many scientific researches, field experiments and technical reports in area of diet therapy and nutrition. He took part in numerous international symposiums and conferences on camel milk and food therapy. He had produced 47 research articles in reputable international journals, 14 conference abstracts, 4 books or chapters, 1 technical report, and 2 research reviews, among other publications. With the German academic publishing company Lambert, he had two volumes published. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Grassroots Journal, ‘Pastures & Pastoralism’. Additionally, he serves on the review board of the Open Veterinary Journal, which is listed in PubMed, Scopus, and the Web of Sciences. In a series of studies including long-term illnesses and metabolic disorders, he is anticipating innovation in the use of camel milk as a diet therapy source. He is currently Senior Global Fellow with the Global Leadership Program (GLP) of The Grassroots Institute, Canada with a focus on nutrition security (The Grassroots Institutes | GLP).
